Fingal Head Locality Plan

Tweed Shire Council is in the process of undertaking targeted planning studies, locality plans, for key localities throughout the Shire.

The Locality Plans aim to guide future growth and planning and are part of Tweed Shire Council’s commitment to balancing economic, environmental and social considerations to develop the Tweed in a sustainable way.

By adding your voice to the conversation you will help to influence decision making about your local area. Your contribution will help Council to develop the Fingal Head Locality Plan which will reflect the community’s vision for the future of Fingal Head.

The purpose of the locality plan

Council is seeking community input to help define an overall vision and local character statement to provide Council with clear direction for future development within Fingal Head.

Council is seeking the community’s views on things such as:

  • What is special and valued about Fingal Head that you want to see protected?
  • What opportunities are there for Fingal Head?
  • What is your vision for the future character of the village?

We will actively involve the community through different phases of the consultation before adopting the finalised community vision and locality plan.
