As part of its Cool Towns Urban Forest program, Tweed Shire Council is planting street trees in the verge in Bellevue Estate, Murwillumbah, in streets including: 

• Mount Ernest Crescent
• Mount Lindesay Avenue
• Mount Ballow Avenue
• Castle Field Drive
• Saddle Way

Please register your interest for a tree to be planted in front of your residence using this form. 

Please note that tree planting is subject to site assessments for suitability. 

Street trees will provide shade for walking and recreation and increased amenity value. Trees have also been shown to:

• promote walking, cycling and outdoor activities
• provide privacy and reduce noise
• reduce the demand for heating and cooling by as much as 15%
• increase property values between 5 to 30%
• encourage bird life
• contribute to cooling and reduce heat-related illnesses.
