It is recognised that 10-15% of the Tweed LGA’s overall greenhouse gas emissions can be influenced by community and individual actions. While Council works towards its own climate change action plan, renewable energy action plan and adaptation plans, the community also has the opportunity to play a part in a sustainable, liveable future that protects the Tweed’s unique natural environment.

The Community Climate Action Group, now known as Tweed Climate Action Now (TweedCAN) is a community-led group enabling active community involvement from Tweed residents in responding to climate change and driving local climate change solutions.

TweedCAN's agreed mission statement is: To address climate change by inspiring and empowering community-led action.

To find out more about the group, you can read their Terms of Reference or to get involved, complete the form here.
