Tweed Regional Museum (TRM) is a major cultural facility of Council, one that helps us build a vibrant community to live and visit. It holds a strong reputation for delivery of exceptional cultural programming, education, cultural tourism and community engagement.
About the Museum's Strategic Plan 2025 - 2026
TRM undertakes strategic planning every 4 years to guide operations and align with Council's Integrated Planning and Reporting (IP&R) Framework.
The development of the 2025–2028 Strategic Plans builds on the success of the past strategic period, during which each facility delivered award-winning exhibitions, sector-leading outreach programs and substantial increases in visitation. Planning for the next strategic cycle has been informed by local, state and national policy, cultural sector trends and widespread community and stakeholder consultation.
The Strategic Plan was developed through comprehensive stakeholder engagement and align closely with the Tweed Shire Community Strategic Plan. TRM plays a critical role in shaping cultural life across the region, advancing community wellbeing, supporting creative careers, and contributing to the Tweed's visitor economy.
Key strategic priorities of the plan are:
- Cultural leadership
- First Nations engagement
- Accessibility and inclusion
- Support for regional creatives
- Sustainability
- Sector innovation
The plans provide clear frameworks for delivery and evaluation, ensuring these Council-managed facilities continue to offer nationally significant programs and meaningful local impact.
