As part of our commitment to provide a safe and connected local road network, we will soon start roadworks near you. This is part of our Road Rehabilitation Program, where we will be making changes to the current road pavement as it has reached the end of its service life.
The works will cover Ourimbah Road, from the intersection of Ducat Street, Tweed Heads for approximately 300m and are tentatively planned for late April or May 2026. Works are likely to take about 2 weeks to complete.
Have your say: what time works best for you?
The below two options are currently being considered for the time of day we'll be doing the roadworks. Please tell us your preference at the bottom of this page by Monday 30 March 2026
Option 1: Day works (7am to 5 pm)
Option 2: Nightworks (5 pm to 5am)
What to expect
Ourimbah Road will have one lane closed whilst workers are onsite.
Driveways along the roadworks area will be closed for up to 8 hours for one day/night during the road works. This may mean no vehicular access to properties. At other times, driveway access may be closed for short periods.
Temporary road closures during road work hours, which may cause delays of up to 10 minutes.
We've made plans for emergency vehicles to pass through the site.
Please do not use on-street parking in works area during work hours.
Changed traffic conditions with traffic controllers guiding traffic flow during work hours.
Pedestrian movement may be directed or restricted.
Large earthmoving machinery.
Some construction noise and dust.
Minor ground vibrations.
Linemarking will take place at night towards the end of the project.
Location of roadworks
