Cudgen Recreation Reserve upgrade
Cudgen Recreation Reserve (next to Cudgen Public School) is set for an upgrade to create safer, modern and more welcoming facilities. Many of the current facilities are old and worn, so we’re planning to replace or improve the toilets, multi-use court and cricket nets and more.
Council has prepared a draft concept plan for the community space, which includes 2 options for car parking. We’d like your feedback before finalising the design and starting construction.
Your input from the 2020 consultation has already shaped this project. With funding now secured, we’re ready to move forward.
View the draft concept plans (overview and detailed view).
Council is seeking community feedback from 4 March until 4pm on 1 April 2026.
What will happen
The upgrade will keep the reserve’s current uses, with no major changes to how the facilities work.
What the project will include
- a new public toilet and accessible pathway
- a multi-use court for tennis and basketball
- new cricket nets
- consideration of shade trees and seating
- provide options for accessible parking
- a new rebound wall for ball sports
What the project won't include
- Play equipment

- Lighting upgrades
The much-loved Norfolk pines along the road will stay in place.
Why it matters
The upgrades will provide improved sporting and toilet facilities, while also boosting safety, health and wellbeing for the community.
