Draft Harbour Management Plan
On exhibition - Proposed fees for vessel berths
Council will commence charging an annual licence fee for all vessel berths in Anchorage Island Harbour in January 2024.
There are four types of berth facilities present in the Anchorage Island Harbour:
Private pontoon with private access – Mariners Drive east, (shown red in the image)
Private ponton with public access – the Rotunda Boardwalk and eastern rock revetment (shown green in the image)
Moorings (shown yellow in the image)
Jetty boardwalk (blue in image)
Income from berth licence fees, coupled with a Council budget allocation to cover the public use of the site, will allow Anchorage Island Harbour to operate with financial equity and sustainability.
Council is responsible for the management of Anchorage Island Harbour and the maintenance of public facilities found within it. This draft management plan has been prepared to provide clear information regarding responsibility for issues within the harbour and how they will be managed. The objectives of the management plan are to:
Maintain the existing public facilities that allow safe use and enjoyment of the harbour area
We would like to thank those who attended a recent Community Conversation and contributed feedback on the proposed fees for vessel berths.
Formal submissions are now open for both the proposed fees for vessel berths and the draft Harbour Management Plan. Feedback can be provided until 4pm, Monday 15 January 2024 in one of the following ways:
