Project update - 18 June 2025

At the meeting on May 15 2025, Tweed Shire Council resolved to dispose of Council-owned operational land at 39 West End Street in Murwillumbah (Lot 5 in DP1303298) in special circumstances in accordance with Council’s Disposal of Land Policy v1.3.

It was unanimously agreed by Councillors to offer a selective tender to those persons within the Tweed Shire that were successful applicants in the NSW Government Reconstruction Authority’s Home Buyback or Home Relocation programs.

41 West End Street (house) will be disposed of by public auction as previously advertised and resolved by Council and advertised.

  • 39 West End (vacant land) – Council resolved to sell by selective tender process. Seeking public submissions.
  • 41 West End (house) – Council resolved to sell by public auction.

Project update - 5 March 2025

Tweed Shire Council has identified 2 properties known as 39 and 41 West End Street in Murwillumbah (Lots 5 & 6 in DP1303298) as being surplus to Council requirements and as such are now available for disposal.

Council has now resolved to advertise its intention to dispose of the 2 properties in accordance with Council’s Disposal of Land Policy v1.3.

Please note that under the provisions of the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009, such submissions may be referred to third parties for consideration. Once the submission period is completed, Tweed Shire Council will consider (via a Council Meeting) all duly made submissions before deciding whether to continue with the disposal of the properties.
