You're invited to provide feedback on Council's draft policy and guidelines on road reserve vegetation in urban areas.


This policy aims to clarify Council’s approach to vegetation and landscaping in road reserves in urban areas. The objectives of this policy are to:

  • ensure street trees are protected as valuable Council assets
  • ensure public safety
  • ensure access for maintenance of infrastructure
  • highlight that road reserves, nature strips or street verges are public land
  • highlight that road reserves are controlled by Council.
