This policy aims to clarify Council’s approach to vegetation and landscaping in road reserves in urban areas. The objectives of this policy are to:

  • ensure street trees are protected as valuable Council assets
  • ensure public safety
  • ensure access for maintenance of infrastructure
  • highlight that road reserves, nature strips or street verges are public land
  • highlight that road reserves are controlled by Council.
