Proposal to establish an alcohol-free zone - Tweed Heads

Consultation has concluded

You are invited to provide feedback regarding the proposal to establish an alcohol-free zone at Wharf Street, between Bay Street and Kennedy Drive; River Terrace and Terranora Terrace, Tweed Heads.

If approved, the proposed zone will be enforceable seven days a week, 24 hours per day and will cover roads, footpaths, and public car parks; excluding those businesses approved by Council for the purposes of footpath dining whilst those businesses are trading.

Maps identifying the proposed areas can be viewed on page 5 of the proposal, or at Council’s administration buildings, Tumbulgum Road Murwillumbah and Brett Street Tweed Heads, between the hours of 8:30 am and 4:15 pm Monday to Friday.

If established, the zone will be in place until 1 December 2021. Alcohol-free zones may be re-established at the conclusion of the original period.
