Planning agreements are voluntary arrangements between developers and Council that deliver public benefits such as infrastructure, land or other community assets as part of development proposals.


What's proposed

Council is proposing to adopt a new Planning Agreement Policy that will:

  • establish a transparent and accountable framework for planning agreements
  • ensure infrastructure delivery aligns with community needs and strategic plans
  • provide clear guidelines for negotiation, execution and reporting of planning agreements
  • support innovative and flexible approaches to delivering public benefits
  • improve transparency and public access to Planning Agreement information via a public register.
