The NSW Government is inviting everyone in the Tweed and surrounds to have their say on a draft replacement water sharing plan for the Tweed River.

The public exhibition period provides opportunities for water users, stakeholders and other interested parties to learn about the proposed changes and help shape the final version of the plan.

Head to the NSW Government’s Water in NSW Tweed River webpage to find out more about the public exhibition and to download the draft plan and supporting documentation.

About the plan

The draft Water Sharing Plan for the Tweed River Area Unregulated and Alluvial Water Sources establishes rules for managing water. This includes the limit of the total volume of water that can be extracted from water sources in the Tweed River area.

Every 10 years, water sharing plans in NSW are reviewed under the Water Management Act 2000. The existing water sharing plan for the Tweed River Area Unregulated and Alluvial Water Sources 2010 will expire on 30 June 2023.
