Registration: Register by Sunday 28 September 2025 Face to face induction: 9:30 am on Saturday 11 October 2025 at Murwillumbah Civic and Cultural Centre Campaign date: Saturday 18 October to Sunday 26 October 2025
Just wear the vest – that’s it!
Join the Joe Rider Motorcycle Safety Campaign and help shift drivers out of complacency.
You don’t need to change your routine, just ride like you normally do (or add a few extra if you’re up for it) wearing the bold yellow ‘I am Joe Rider’ vest and give drivers a reason to double-check.
Your presence on the road sends a message that’s hard to ignore: We’re out here. Look out for us. It tackles the all-too-common 'Sorry Mate, I Didn’t See You' (SMIDSY) excuse that puts motorcycle riders at risk.
And for the community? There’s a fun, interactive twist. Locals will be invited to spot a Joe Rider and enter daily draws and a grand prize competition, making road safety something everyone can get behind.
Why volunteer
It’s fun! You get to ride while helping improve road safety.
Rest and recharge with $15 Why Leave Town fatigue vouchers for every ride to keep you going strong.
Be part of a community of like-minded riders making a real impact in a statewide safety initiative.
What you need
A valid motorcycle licence.
A registered and comprehensively insured motorcycle.
Commit to at least one 30 to 60 minute ride in the Tweed Shire over the course of the 9 day campaign.
Attend the mandatory face to face induction at 9:30 am on Saturday 11 October 2025 at Murwillumbah Civic and Cultural Centre. The induction will run for about one hour and will cover everything you need to know to take part in the campaign safely and confidently. You’ll also receive your Joe Rider thank you pack at the session. Following the session, we’ll be hosting an optional group ride so you can connect with other Joe Riders and enjoy a relaxed ride together.
You can commit to the full campaign or just ride a few days – whatever works for you.
Don’t miss this chance to make a difference and enjoy the thrill of riding while promoting safety!
Register now and be part of something amazing. Let’s ride for a safer Tweed!
Be a Joe Rider and make a difference!
