New Park upgrades & Playground for Cudgen Foreshore Park, Kingscliff

New playground to be installed in Kingscliff

Cudgen Foreshore Park in Kingscliff will soon receive a significant upgrade thanks to a grant from the Department of Family and Community Services. It’s another park to benefit from grants to improve open space and recreation within the Tweed.

Works on the Cudgen Foreshore Park will commence on 19 March 2019, with the project scheduled to be completed by late May 2019.

The features of the new park design at Cudgen Foreshore Park are the direct result of community input. The local community shared their ideas on what features they would like to see in the park as part of a Council-run family fun day late last year.

The final concept design includes the following improvements:

    • Interactive play equipment for 2-12 year olds with a unique nautical theme
    • Seating areas
    • Scooter track and pathways
    • Natural play features and green open space
    • Curved pathways and integrated natural elements

Existing mature trees will be protected and additional tree planting in the park will provide much needed shade.
