The community survey is now closed. Focus groups are taking place with key stakeholder in the community. All feedback will be reviewed and inform the development of a draft Ageing Well in the Tweed strategy due to go on exhibition later this year.
What's happening?
Council is developing an Ageing Well in the Tweed Strategy to make sure we create an age-friendly place that meets the needs of the community. We want the Tweed to be a place where people feel valued, supported, and connected as they age.
This project is open for feedback until 4pm, Wednesday 27 March 2024
What we're asking
Council want to understand what direction we need to take to plan and develop our communities. The strategy will be about addressing the future well-being of residents as they age. We want to ensure residents have every opportunity to remain active, engaged and to maintain their health and wellbeing right here in Tweed.
To inform the development of the strategy, engagement activities have been planned to reach community members, community groups and health and aged care service providers during the Tweed Seniors Festival.
Why it matters
The Tweed is facing an ageing population driven by increased migration of middle aged and retirees.
Older people make a significant contribution to our community as family members, mentors, volunteers, skilled worker and carers.
It is important to have the right supports and services available in the community as people age
How to have your say
Complete a community survey and share your thoughts in one of the following ways:
Online - complete the survey before 4pm, Wednesday 27 March.
Hardcopy - Download and print orcollect a hardcopy survey from one of our Council offices or from a location listed below. Then,
Mail to The General Manager, Tweed Shire Council, PO Box 816, Murwillumbah NSW 2484, or
Deliver in person to the Tweed or Murwillumbah Council offices.
