Future of Chinderah

It is important that the community’s vision for the future of Chinderah is central to Council’s decision making about how Chinderah changes over time.

By having your say you will be help create a shared community vision for the future of Chinderah to guide development of the Chinderah Locality Plan.

The Locality Plan will set out a vision for the future of Chinderah and identify unique features that it would like to maintain. It will then set out goals and actions that will guide future decision making about how land can be used in Chinderah. It will help ensure the community’s vision for Chinderah is achieved over the coming years.

140 people attended two Community Conversations at Cudgen Leagues Club on 21 October. Over twenty different themes came out of the attendee's feedback including the importance of acknowledging Aboriginal and South Sea Islander heritage, protecting the natural environment including wildlife corridors, a potential community garden and community hub.

Each attendee voted for the top five themes that they believed are most important to be considered for the future of Chinderah. The top five themes that received the most votes from the community have been added to the discussion forum below.
