Pandanus to be moved

A pandanus located immediately south of Cudgen Headland Surf Life Saving Club will be relocated to the new Kingscliff Central Park as part of its early landscaping for the Kingscliff Foreshore Revitalisation.

The mature tree is extremely close to the surf club building and would need to be removed when the club undertakes a planned facility upgrade of the facility. Access to transport lifesaving equipment to and from the beach would then be via land currently occupied by the pandanus.

The club building and surrounding paths is also restricting the tree’s growth.

”The works currently being undertaken in the new Central Park provide a great opportunity to transplant the tree now and relocate directly into a new position within the park,” Kingscliff Foreshore Revitalisation Project Manager Stewart Brawley said.

The tree is expected to be moved during the next week or two.
